Whole School Participates in Easter Journey Day

In the final week of the Spring Term, the whole school took part in Easter Journey Day.

In Nursery and Reception, the children thought about some of the key parts of the Easter story and why the symbol of the cross was important to Christians.
In Years 1 and 2, the children acted out parts of the story, including 'Palm Sunday'. They explored imagery linked to the cross.
Year 3 focused on how hope came from despair. They created prints to depict images linked to Jesus' crucifixion.
In Year 4, the children considered whether the crucifixion of Jesus was a sacrifice. They took part in role-play and explored ideas of being lost and found.
Year 5 and 6 children focused on the symbolic meanings of Easter. They also explored works of art showing the crucifixion before creating poems and artwork of their own.
