Pupil Premium at Prees
At Prees CE Primary School, we believe in equal opportunities for all, and, where there are barriers to learning, we try to address them.
Pupil Premium funding is given to schools to try to ‘close the gap’ academically to improve the life chances for all.
We have identified that some of the barriers to learning for our children can be addressed by:
- Offering targeted reading, comprehension, phonics and communication interventions and support to address outcomes in reading and literacy.
- Offering social and emotional support from a dedicated Learning Mentor and Family Outreach Key worker, for those times when life presents external challenges which make good learning behaviour difficult.
- Ensuring that distance from school and relying on School transport is not a barrier to engagement in school sports and extra curricular activities
‘All groups of pupils, including those eligible for pupil premium, achieve well and are prepared well for the next stage of their education.’ Ofsted 2012
Pupil Premium allocation for 2016/2017 is £28,320
