Careers Fair Ends Week of Focus on Jobs

This week, the whole school has focused on money and jobs as part of our work to develop real-life knowledge and skills.
A huge thank you to the parents who came into school to tell KS1 about their jobs. We learned about milk production, being a farrier, and the job of a vet.
After this, the children were assigned jobs to do around school to earn some play money. They could then use their earnings to buy items.
We ended the day role-playing different jobs.
Through a fantastic, fun-filled day, the children developed a greater understanding of the world of work and money.

Our thanks to the parents who visited Year 3 and 4 to talk about their careers. The children benefited from hearing what it is like to work in nursing, as a paramedic, physiotherapist, in the police, in orienteering and planning, and being a chef.
We enjoyed super talks by each!

The week ended with our annual 'Careers Fair' for the children in Year 6. Together with children from Clive and Whixall Schools, the children had the chance to speak to 12 different exhibitors about their roles and career paths.
We were joined by members of the RAF, representatives from the Grocott Group, and Barlows Electrical, as well as people who work in the sectors of engineering, design, care and medicine, maintenance, veterinary care, and nature!
An enormous thank you to everyone who made it such a wonderful day!
